Important Fence Post Requirements
The 10' x 20' Rally Master Backboard requires three 10-foot-tall round fence posts and can only be mounted to the following post sizes:
- 2-1/2" round fence posts
- 3" round fence posts
- 4" round fence posts
The mounting posts must be suitable for either the Direct Connect or Off-Set mounting system.
Direct Connect Mounting
The Direct Connect Rally Master Backboard attaches directly to the existing round fence posts. This mounting option is designed for straight, plumb, and properly aligned fence posts or newly installed independent posts.
Because the 10' x 20' backboard mounts to three fence posts, all three must be properly aligned. If any mounting post is bent, wind-damaged, or out of plumb, correctly aligning the backboard panels with Direct Connect hardware may be difficult or impossible.
If any of the three fence posts are bent or out of plumb, select the Off-Set mounting option.
Off-Set Mounting
The Off-Set Rally Master Backboard is designed for installations where existing fence posts are slightly out of plumb.
The Off-Set hardware kit includes support columns and adjustable brackets that help compensate for minor post alignment problems, allowing the installer to properly position and align the backboard panels.
Vertical Tennis Backboard
The Vertical Rally Master Backboard provides the traditional, predictable rebound preferred for a wide range of tennis practice drills. Players can work on groundstrokes, volleys, serves, footwork, timing, and conditioning while getting an excellent aerobic workout.
The vertical configuration also preserves valuable court space, extending only approximately 4–6 inches inside the court fence.
8° Back-Sloped Tennis Backboard
The 8-degree Back-Sloped Rally Master Backboard produces a slightly lofted ball return that lands farther away from the wall than the flatter, shorter rebound of a vertical backboard.
This additional loft provides more preparation time between shots and naturally positions the player farther from the practice wall. Rally Master's moderate 8-degree angle also provides a practical rebound for close-range volley drills, making it suitable for beginners through advanced players.
The 8° back-sloped configuration extends approximately 21 inches inside the fence, providing an effective balance between a lofted ball return and efficient use of court space.
Reduced Rebound Noise
Rally Master's patent-pending vibration dampeners and mounting system are engineered to substantially reduce rebound noise. Decibel testing indicates that a tennis ball striking a Rally Master Backboard is no louder than a tennis ball hitting a racquet and is quieter than a basketball being dribbled on an asphalt court.
The reduced-noise design makes Rally Master an excellent choice for residential courts, tennis clubs, schools, parks, and other facilities where excessive practice-wall noise may be a concern.
Heavy-Duty, Vandal-Resistant Construction
Rally Master panels are manufactured from solid-core, high-density plastic with rich color molded directly into the material. The combination of density, flexibility, and strength creates an exceptionally durable outdoor tennis backboard capable of handling demanding recreational and institutional use.
Multi-Sport Practice Wall
The rugged Rally Master construction also makes the backboard suitable for soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and other sports training. These activities can damage less durable backboard materials, making Rally Master an excellent choice for schools, parks, and multi-sport recreation facilities.
Permanent Tennis Net Line
The tennis net line is permanently etched into the backboard panels, giving players a durable visual target without relying on painted or applied lines that can peel, fade, or wear away.
Heavy-Duty Mounting System
Rally Master's mounting system is engineered for efficient installation and dependable structural support. Backboard panels attach to heavy-duty galvanized cross braces with corrosion-resistant galvanized hardware for long-lasting outdoor performance.
Rally Master Backboard Sizing
Rally Master Backboards are manufactured from individual 10' H x 4' W panels. The 10' x 20' Rally Master Backboard consists of five panels and requires three 10-foot-tall mounting posts.
The minimum Rally Master Backboard size is 10' x 12', with larger backboards available in 4-foot increments. There is no maximum length as long as the total width is divisible by four feet.
Backed by an industry-leading 20-year warranty, the 10' x 20' Rally Master Tennis Backboard provides the size, durability, reduced noise, and professional rebound performance needed for serious tennis training and high-use facilities.
