Summer 2019 Atlanta Open
Have you planned every month of your 2019 summer yet? If you’re an avid tennis fan, the Atlanta Open coming up July 20th-28th is an excellent event, both because of the fun you can have in the crowd and the enjoyment of getting to explore a new city and culture. Traveling is fun, tennis is life, so why not combine the two? In this post we’ll summarize why to try the Atlanta Open this Summer.

The Atlanta Open has proven to be the core tennis event in the South since 2010. Top US tennis players show up for this event to prepare for the US Open. This hard court event is part of the US Open Summer Series, so obviously big players will be there. The Atlanta Open takes place at Atlantic Station, a very unique tennis venue both because of its surroundings and it being a quite new area. In Atlantic Station you’ll find a variety of cuisine, entertainment, and shopping.

While staying in Atlanta there are many fun-filled activities to indulge in. You can tour the restaurants throughout the city, and even find some authentic Southern cuisine you otherwise may never have tried without making the trip. Food is a big part of traveling, and you won’t be disappointed with what Atlanta has to offer. Some call Atlanta the ‘New York City of the South’ both because of its shopping districts and the wide variety of food. If you make it to the Atlanta Open, you’ll find plenty to explore in terms of restaurants.

Feeling like getting your cardio in? Another quick tip is the variety of walking trails along beautiful scenery in Atlanta. When visiting for the Atlanta Open you should explore the Peachtree City, Georgia trails just outside the city. The views will be mesmerizing. To stay closer to the city, try the Beltline Trail. This 33-mile network of planned trails navigates to many existing parks throughout the Atlanta metro area. Get a healthy walk, jog, or run in while soaking the beautiful scenery. You can’t go wrong with taking a long walk or run in a beautiful city while on vacation. If you’re interested in traveling for tennis this summer, it’s more than worth taking the trip South of the Mason-Dixon line to the Atlanta Open.
