ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Available in 1000W standard metal halide and pulse-start metal halide. Comes standard with a 4KV pulse rated mogul base socket. Each 60HZ CWA multi-tap, 480V, or 5-tap ballast is pre-wired and installed for convenience. 50HZ ballast available upon request.
POLES
The pole shaft is fabricated from hot rolled carbon steel having a minimum yield of 55,000 PSI and conforms to ASTM A500 grade C requirements. The shaft construction is a single piece of formed steel welded longitudinally. The hand hole is located 1’ 6” above the pole base. A ground lug is provided standard.
ANCHOR BASE
The anchor base is fabricated from a structural quality hot rolled carbon steel plate that has a minimum yield strength of 36,000 PSI. The anchor base telescopes the pole shaft and has
a circumferential weld on the top and bottom.
BASE COVER

PULSE-START VS. TRADITIONAL PROBE START METAL HALIDE LIGHTING
Pulse-start and probe-start lamps use a different ballast system. Traditional probe-start metal halide lamps do not use an genitor and require three electrical contacts to ignite the gas and remain lit. Newer pulse-start metal halide lamps use only two contacts and use an igniter located inside the ballast pod. The benefits are substantial.
Pulse-start fixtures/lamps offer several benefits:
Longer Life:
Up to 50% longer life reducing maintenance & replacement cost
Higher Efficacy:
As much as 24% more lumens per watt saving energy and money
Rapid Restrike Time:
Less that half the time to re-light when shut down
Better Color Rendition:
Superior an more stable color rendering as lamps are
Less Color Variance:
Lamps throughout the area appear to be the same color
Quick Startup:
Ful brightness in 2 to 4 minutes instead of 5 to 10 minutes
Superior Lumen Maintenance:
About 14% less lumen deprecation means more light
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CENTER COURT DCLB EXTRUDED SHOEBOX
WARNING:
Always install fixtures according to National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes. Failure to do so will void the warranty and could cause damage to the fixture or may result in personal injury.
IMPORTANT: TURN ELECTRICITY OFF AT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER BEFORE INSTALLING OR PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON FIXTURE.
Remove the fixture from its packaging taking care not to damage the fixture or the finish. There is no loose hardware with the fixture or arm. Mounting hardware is provided installed into the fixture and arm at the appropriate locations. Open the door/lens assembly by loosening the two captive Phillips-head screws. Open the ballast tray compartment by removing the single Phillips-head screw and sliding it free from the mounting groove. Change the fixture voltage if needed. The ballast tray is provided pre-wired at 240V and a 30’ pigtail is attached to the fixture (quick disconnects are provided for all Center Court light fixtures for 120V or 240V operation unless specified otherwise upon ordering).
NOTE:
Always verify the voltage at which the ballast is tapped before connecting the fixture with the power supply. If no voltage is specified upon ordering, the fixture will be tapped at 240V. Remove the hex bolts, lock washers, and flat washers from the reinforced mounting nut plate on the fixture and set aside. Pull the 30’ pigtail through the mounting arm and align the mounting holes of the arm with the mounting holes on the fixture and fasten using the flat washer, lock washer, and hex bolt in that order. Remove any dirt or dust from the lamp by wiping it with a clean cloth. Close fixture door/lens assembly and tighten the two captive Phillips-head screws until the door is securely closed. Feed the 30’ pigtail through the opening of the 3-1/2” OD tenon on the pole and slide the mounting arm over the tenon. Secure the arm to the tenon using the six (6) 1/2” Allen-head screws provided installed in the mounting arm. Erect the pole. Connect the power supply to the whip inside the pole according to local code and the National Electric Code (NEC).
NOTE:
Fixture must be installed by a licensed electrician. These instructions do not cover all details or variations in equipment, nor do the provide for every uncertainty related to installation, operation, maintenance, or mounting contingency. Should specific problems occur that are not covered sufficiently for the purchaser’s purpose, contact Center Court Lighting for additional product or application information. Improper installation and/or utilization may void manufacturer’s warranty. Center Court Lighting assumes no responsibility for claims arising out of improper or careless installation or handling of this product.
LEVELING THE FIXTURE
There are two points on the arm and fixture assembly that may be used in leveling the fixture. Leveling point A is the point at which the mounting arm slips over the 3-1/2” OD tenon. Using the six (6) 1/2” Allen-head set screws provided, adjust opposing set screws as necessary to ensure the base of the mounting arm is set as vertically as possible. Once a vertical setting has been achieved tighten the remaining set screws to secure the arm adequately to the tenon. Leveling point B is the point at which the bottom hex bolt of the mounting arm meets the bottom mounting hole on the fixture. By adjusting only the bottom hex bolt in the field, the mounting angle of the fixture may be adjusted up or down to achieve a level mounting position.
